Avi Samudrala is easily one of the most innovative businessmen working today. Samudrala found an inexpensive way to outsource over the Internet the tasks of personal assistants. This is a revolutionary discovery which could make personal assistants a far larger business in the future. Avi Samudrala’s innovative vision is a big part of why he has been so successful in business.
Avi Samudrala attended the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. This is a prestigious school that is considered one of the Southern Ivy Leagues. He graduated from that institution and went to work as an associate at a private equity firm called AEA Investors. Avi Samudrala then had an idea based upon the experience of India. Samudrala’s parents come from India, so Samudrala has seen just how productive people in India could be at the jobs they were paid far less to do. This deal is mutually beneficial for both the companies who are outsourcing, because they save on labor costs, and for the workers, who get paid more than they would otherwise. Despite the lesser labor costs, companies still receive similar benefits. After discovering this, Avi Sumadrala had a couple of discussions with various friends and relatives concerning outsourcing. He found that the idea might be applicable to the industry of personal assistants too. Samudrala then formed AskSunday.com with a friend in November of 2006. AskSunday.com has, through creativity, low monthly fees, and an accessible labor market, made personal assistants much cheaper.
